All Things Relative

I'm home sick today, so I decided to start writing a blog. I'm not sure if anyone will ever read it, but hell, at least I'm preventing myself from going stir crazy. A little bit about me. MMOs are a big part of my life. I've been playing one MMO or another for over 10 years now, having started my illustrious career with Meridian 59 and Ultima Online back in the '90s. I was one of the founding members of Everquest, in fact it was my first Beta. I remember I borrowed money from my sister so I could buy the game when it was released.

I've Betaed alot of other game giants as well- Dark Age of Camelot, Anarchy Online, Star Wars Galaxies, and City of Heroes to name a few. Ironically I never betaed World of Warcraft when it was first released. To be honest the limited number of classes and cartoonish graphics really didn't appeal to me. (That's not to say I don't play the game now, I love WoW now.) I guess it's safe to say, that I have alot of experience with MMOs and their subsequent demise or success.

So then, what do I expect to do with this blog? Well for one, write about something I know. Putting modesty aside, I know MMOs. Also I wanted to write about something I love and I really do love MMOs. Why would I spend time writing about something if I didn't?

MMOs, in my opinion, are the future. Other forms of games may exist, but in the end it will be online gaming, the games where people interact with other people, that will decide the future and what better way to be a part of that legacy then to write about it? So that's it. If you're reading this and you have any ideas for new posts, please feel free to e-mail me. Until next time, good gaming.
